Organization Roles and Permissions

Organizations is currently in BETA for all users and is subject to change.

In Mixpanel Organizations, users have roles in an organization and in a project.

An organization links users, projects, and billing plans together in an account. A project contains event and people data.

The types of organization and project roles a user has should be based on the required permissions users need for specific levels. Mixpanel roles are also contingent on whether or not a company has an enterprise plan.

For more information on specific project role permissions, see Project Roles and Permissions.

This article defines organization roles and permissions, and specifies those roles and permissions in Mixpanel features.

Organization Roles and Permissions

An organization has four roles: owner, admin, billing admin, and member.

Owner

Organization owners have administrative permissions for the organization, and all the projects in the organization.

Every organization must have at least one owner.

Admin

Organizations admins have administrative permissions to manage projects and members in the organization.

Billing Admin

Billing admins can only manage billing plans for your company. They can manage payments, update payment methods, upgrade or downgrade, and view invoices.

A billing admin does not have to belong to a team or project.

Billing admins only can see the Overview tab in the Organizations view.

Member

Organizations members have no admin permissions in the organization.

Only owners and admins can add a member to a team or project.

Members can’t see Organization settings.

Organization Settings

Organization settings allow you to manage administrative information for users, projects, and billing plans.

For more information on how to access and use organization settings, see Organization Settings.
