View your Retention reports on Dashboards in order to keep track of changes to your reports. As the Dashboard cards have a limited size, the scope of the reports will be narrowed based on whether you are viewing a daily, weekly, or monthly retention report.
To add a Retention report to your dashboard, click Add to dashboard on the top right of the report. Then select the Dashboard(s) you wish to add the Retention report to.
Daily Retention
Depending on the date range of the saved report, daily retention buckets default to either 1, 7, 14, and 28 days or 1, 14, 28, and 56 days.
For example:
- A date range under 50 days will be bucketed as 1, 7, 14, and 28.
- A date range greater than 50 days will be bucketed as 1, 14, 28, 56.
All buckets are multiples of 7 days in order to compare consistent days of the week (e.g., compare Saturdays to Saturdays and Mondays to Mondays).
For example, a Retention Dashboard card showing users who did anything, and came back to do anything else over 37 days will show 1,7,14, and 28 day buckets. The percentage of users coming back will display next to the bucket.
Weekly Retention
Weekly retention buckets default to 1, 3, 6, and 12 weeks.
Monthly Retention
Monthly retention buckets default to 1, 3, 6, and 12 months.
Frequency
Buckets in Frequency reports on the dashboard default to the following, unlike other Retention reports:
- Day (hourly frequency): 2, 8, 16, 24 hours.
- Week (daily frequency): 2, 3, 5, 7 days.
- Month (daily frequency): 2, 10, 20, 30 days.
